Streetscape in the Heights neighborhood of Houston

Heights

Historic bungalows, a walkable 19th Street, and the Heights Hike & Bike Trail, just northwest of downtown Houston.

The Heights started in 1891 as one of Houston’s first planned communities, and it still feels like a small town inside the city. Heights Boulevard runs down the middle with its wide, tree-lined esplanade, and the side streets are full of restored bungalows and Victorians sitting next to newer builds.

Most days revolve around 19th Street and the blocks around it: local shops, coffee, restaurants and the Heights Theater. The Heights Hike & Bike Trail and White Oak Bayou trails connect the neighborhood to the rest of the city on foot or by bike, and downtown is a short drive away.

Buying here, it pays to know which streets fall inside the historic districts, since those have rules about renovations and new construction. Ask me about any specific home and I will pull recent sales nearby and the flood history for that address.

Thinking about Heights?

I work this neighborhood regularly. Tell me what you are after and I will tell you honestly whether Heights is the right fit, and what is coming available.
